Medicare for All could soon become a reality if Democrats use all their considerable resources to bring it about. They are one signature away … that of Donald J Trump. Trump doesn’t have any political ideology except stamping his name on as many building projects and pieces of paper as he possibly can. If Democrats approach him correctly, he could become convinced that he could have his name on the most significant piece of legislation in American history. The way to approach him, of course, is to appeal to his vanity.
Make it the job of the prettiest young newly elected Congress woman ( a Gen Zer perhaps) to get on Trump’s good side, butter him up, and arrange to have dinner with him at Mar-a-lago. Sort of a Democrat version of Natalie Harp. Under the right circumstances Trump will sign, I predict. But you have to appeal to his ego and to his vanity. Democrats, you don’t have to compromise with Republicans over this. Did Trump or the Republicans compromise over the Big Beautiful Bill? No. They had the majorities in both House and Senate as Democrats do now. So it’s just a question of getting Trump to sign.
So Even though the bill would be Medicare for All with a public option (if you want to keep you private insurance, you have a right to do so), you would call the bill TRUMPCARE. Trumpcare would be the greatest advance in health care in US history, and it just comes down to getting the signature of one man whose only political ideology is to any legislation that glorifies himself. Obamacare would be obsolete and superseded by TrumpCare. Get it? Is this a great country or what?
