In the animal kingdom love is often expressed between mother and children but not between father and children. The mother puma, as well as the mother leopard, among many others, is solely responsible for raising the offspring. Neither the father puma nor the father leopard takes any responsibility at all. The same can be said for polar and other bears. The mother puma has to defend her children from predators as well as feeding them which means she has to leave them alone while she goes out hunting so she can replenish her milk. The mother leopard has to hide her cubs while she goes out hunting. A predator including other male leopards will kill them if he gets the chance.
I’ve already discussed how male leopard and puma DNA including the DNA of other big cats as well as bears and other mammals. may also be included in human DNA. After all we had a common ancestor if you go far enough back in the evolutionary chain. Love is expressed in the animal world between mothers and children, but not necessarily between fathers and children. Puma cubs literally hug and kiss their mother, and their mother hugs and kisses them. This is true of other big cats including lions. Lion mothers will even suckle the children of other mothers in the same pride. You don’t see this behavior between male big cats or male bears and their offspring. I believe that there are feelings of love between mother animals and their offspring. This is evident when you see them together in person or in film. I believe animals really have these feelings, probably at a very deep level.
Like their animal forbears , human males are basically interested in the acquisition of territory and other assets. Male pumas seem to think their only job is to mark and patrol their territory and to keep other males out. Human males are similarly interested, and this desire to conquer and control leads to war and physical violence being one of the major preoccupations of human males. Male pride is involved in patriotism. In modern wars it’s mainly human women and children that are being killed not other male combatants. In order ever to attain a peaceful world the feminine principal of love and nurturing of children has to replace the male principal of territory and other asset acquisition. In order for this to prevail, more women need to to be put into positions of power. They can appreciate the fact that it isn’t worth killing other women and children in order to attain power and asset and territorial acquisition. A peaceful world can be attained by changing from male prerogatives to female prerogatives. This is not to say that all males are incapable of love or pursuing peace or that some females are not interested in power and territorial acquisition.
