Advertising works! Americans have been habituated to being led down the primrose path by advertising whether it’s for merchandise or political entities. What advertising has taught you to do is NOT think critically. So when all those people who voted for Trump because he said he would bring down grocery prices his first day in office, they were convinced that he would do it. Did he have a plan for bringing down the price of groceries? NO. Did people stop to think that by him just saying it, it didn’t mean he was capable of bringing it about? NO. They just succumbed to advertising. They heard Trump proclaim it hundreds of times, and they thought it must be going to happen. Did Trump, himself, ever plan to bring down the price of groceries on Day 1? NO. The American people have been taught not to think critically so they fall for anything that is advertised effectively as only the American advertising industry knows how to do it. And repeated over and over again. They were suckered and snookered as only Trump knows how to do it.
So why didn’t the Democrats do the same thing? Just say they would do such and such on Day 1? Because they have at least a smidgeon of integrity. They won’t promise to do stuff which thy know in their hearts there’s not a chance of a snowball in hell of actually doing. Governor Newsom, at least, has learned from the Donald J. Trump playbook. He is setting out to out vulgar and out mock Trump which is pretty hard to do. Even Governor Newsom has shied away from some of the more virulent vulgarisms that slide off the tongue of Trump. Trump is an unhinged con man who has perfected his craft over a long history. Democrats must be still trying to get their minds around the fact that he can lie to the American people and the American people believe him. Is this what the Democrats also have to do to win?
Maybe so. he American people have been led like lemmings over Trump’s cliff of lies. They don’t even know how to vote in their self interest They vote for the one who entertains them the most. They would rather have drama than common sense. They don’t read. They don’t spend any time trying to get at the truth. So what did they expect? Now they’re upset that Trump didn’t keep his word. Oh Boo Hoo. The price of groceries is still going up. The price of health care for some is about to sky rocket. They didn’t bother to consider what Republicans historically have always done: cater to the rich and screw the poor. Well at least they have been well entertained.
